“This is the last (12th) year of my high school life and I always got the top rank in my class. Before, I studied and lived in the countryside, and the school was 6 kilometres away from my home. I went to school by foot. The time I spent in school was only in the morning. Therefore, I used this free time for self-study and extra classes with the teachers in the afternoon and evening. In addition, I took a little time to help with household chores. (Click Read More)

"There are eight members in the family: my parents and my siblings. I also have to do housework and take care of my younger siblings. My family is not prosperous because my parents work hard all days to support the whole family. Although their income was not enough for the family, they both provided warmth, love, upbringing, care, and education to their children. Hopefully, I will be able to strive for success in the future, and I will return to help my family be happy and full of beauty.
I joined Cambodian Rural Students Trust (CRST) in 2020. My life was changed. In the past, my English was not very good at all, and I didn’t even understand the technology or how to use a computer. I did not know about life in the city and I never left my family before. I didn’t have enough confidence or a good opportunity to grasp during staying in my hometown. Things have changed. CRST has made me more aware of myself and provided me with quality education with enough time to study. I receive three meals per day and a monthly allowance. In addition, CRST provided extra English classes outside of regular school hours, improved my computer skills, and provided me with health protection. I also get a bonus during the main national holiday in Cambodia. I began to feel that I had developed myself every day. Additionally, as I gain a better understanding of general knowledge, I can know and use technology better. There are many opportunities I can receive while being a CRST member with confidence and bravery.
One more thing, I also learned a lot from CRST. I looked at many of the features of CRST, such as the student-led NGO, training students to become future leaders, and responsibilities. CRST provides students with the opportunity to help society's by repairing bicycles for poor children and building houses for poor families and other activities that can help our society so much.
I will help others who are poorer than me.   I really admire all of our students because they never hesitate to help. We see students smile with love and respect, even if we do not help them 100%. We can give them 50% hope and CRST is always open-minded, kind, and helpful in difficult times. There is also the sharing of experiences and constructive feedback. All students are good learners and work diligently with clarity. Thank you for your support.
