How we help locally

Helping to make a positive difference locally and throughout Australia is one of our club's key areas. We run our own projects, we partner with other Rotary Clubs and we partner with like-minded organisations.

We concentrate on problems that no one else is addressing. We welcome information on where we can help. We're all local volunteers taking action to make our community a better place.

We have been supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Fun Run for many years. The next one is Great Strides, a combined run and family-fun event. It a great cause and our main contribution this year is to run their fund-raising BBQ, . Western Emergency Relief Network

Rotary Emergency Relief Networks provide repurposed household goods for disadvantaged families. Our local store is the Western Emergency Relief Networks in Westwood Drive, Ravenhall.

It is run solely by volunteers and we help to fund and manage the operation. It supports those recommended by Welfare Agencies for emergency relief and help.

Re-purposing equipment for the disadvantaged

We provide free re-purposed medical equipment for the home and for mobility to disadvantaged people. Australia has a great medical support system, but unfortunately some people fall through the cracks and can’t afford the medical equipment they need. Working with Rotary's Donations In Kindstore in West Footscray, our volunteers help to gather reusable medical equipment.

The help is for people who genuinely can’t afford the equipment. Medical specialists select what their client needs from the goods available. Last year we helped 158 patients with 241 items. Note the goods are only available for the local medical experts and we have no contact with their clients.

Holloway Aged Care

We've been supporting not-for-profit Holloway Aged Care for nearly 40 years and were instrumental in establishing the operation in Rotary Drive, East Keilor. We helped with the initial funding and continue to support the operation as part of the management team.

The range of medical items donated to Rotary Donations In Kind is amazing and we arrange for suitable goods to be donated. The money saved provides more support for the residents.
